William (Bill) Chaney

William “Bill” Chaney was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. His parents, Novie and Odell Chaney, were his most incredible supporters growing up. His mother enrolled him in music lessons Mrs. Irma Kyles of Cleveland, Ohio, taught at 12. At this early age, he began developing his musical skills, both vocally and instrumentally. He performed in front of his first audience and supporters, his siblings, Stephen, Novie, Tanya, and Kendall. Later in life, Bill meets the love of his life and his best friend, his wife Denise. A plethora of styles influence Bill Chaney’s music. His favorite musical genres include jazz, classical, rhythm and blues, and gospel. He was highly influenced by jazz artists such as Herbie Hancock, the Yellow Jackets, and Jeff Lorber Fusion. Groups such as Earth Wind and Fire, Maze, The O’ Jays, The Dramatics, The Spinners, The Whispers, and LTD uniquely appeal to Chaney. He enjoys classical composers like Beethoven, Bach, Gershwin, and others. His experience with gospel music began at his father’s church, St. Paul AME Zion of Cleveland, Ohio, where his father served as pastor. He participated in the children’s choir, “The Buds of Promise,” and the youth choir, “Youth United Choral. “The experience of leading in his father’s church as a psalmist, leading various choirs and ensembles, has strengthened Chaney’s musicianship. Respectfully, Bill is a producer, a gifted songwriter, a musical instructor, an author, a playwright, a motivational speaker, and a health care professional. He is the founder and visionary of Vision United Ministries and owns B & D Productions. Bill has produced several CD projects, authored a music ministry book, and written and directed three play productions. Bill understands these uncommon gifts and talents are for edifying the Body of Christ and advancing the Kingdom. Three CD projects are currently available on his website at www.banddproductions.com. Bill is the pastor and minister of music at Vision United Ministries in Jackson Mississippi. He also serves as a music minister to five other churches in the area.
